Product design is changing faster than at any point in our careers, and we are looking for a designer who wants to be at the front of it.
At Bettor Faster, the designers who get the best results from AI are the ones who started in UX. The judgement that tells you a user flow is wrong is the same judgement that tells you an AI's idea is wrong. This role is for a UX person who has made AI central to how they work, not a prompt writer who dabbles in design.
Your core design skills and mastery of traditional tools like Figma and Miro remain essential, as AI is simply the accelerator that enables you to reach high-quality results faster. You will build the context that AI models work from, co-author briefs and specifications with them, decide when their output is right and when it only sounds right, and turn ideas into working prototypes through clear direction and instruction. Alongside that, you will run the discovery, research and audit work that Tier 1 sportsbooks, casinos, media companies and game studios come to us for.
We are open on level. A strong mid-level designer who is ahead of the curve on AI is as interesting to us as a seasoned senior who has rebuilt their practice around it. We will shape the role and the package around the person we find.
The majority of the role is to create background context, then work with AI models to produce briefs and specifications, knowing when those specifications are correct and when the model has produced a bad idea. From there you prompt prototypes rather than draw wireframes, and use your UX skill to refine them through instruction. In practice that breaks into four parts.
Building context. You capture who the user is, how the product and the betting market work, what good looks like and how the brand sounds, in a form an AI can work from. The industry calls this context engineering. It is the foundation of everything the model produces afterwards, and the quality of your context is the biggest single lever on the quality of the output.
Co-authoring briefs and specifications. You and the model write together. You set the problem, judge each draft and steer. The model is a fast, strong and sometimes wrong collaborator, and the best work comes from treating it as one: engaging with what it produces rather than accepting it.
Judging AI output. You decide when a specification is right, when it is over-complicated and when it is a bad idea that sounds clever. Models produce plausible, confident, detailed answers that are often not the best answer. Noticing that, pushing back and reframing the problem is the scarce skill in this role, and the one we weight most heavily.
Prompting and refining prototypes. You build working prototypes in tools such as Claude, Cursor, Figma Make, v0 and Lovable, then improve them through instruction rather than redrawing. Our UI designers take over final polish once the UX is agreed.
The UX practice clients still buy. Traditional UX work remains a core part of the job and clients continue to ask for it. You will run AI-enabled competitor landscape analysis, UX audits of existing sites and products, AI-enabled persona creation and management, and you will plan and lead Discovery phases from kick-off to recommendations.
Shaping how we work. Our processes are not fixed. We are continually improving how this work gets done, and we want someone curious enough to notice when a method could be better and help shape what comes next.
You come from UX or product design. That is where every one of our AI-first designers started and it is the foundation this role is built on. Beyond that, we care far more about how you think and how you already work with AI than about years on a CV.
Essential
Desirable
You do not need to code beyond what prototyping tools ask of you, and we are not using years of experience as a proxy for capability.
We are fully remote. There is no office to commute to and no expectation that you will be visible at your desk. We judge on the quality of your output and the strength of your thinking, not on presenteeism.
Core hours apply so that the team and our clients can rely on each other, and within those hours you flex your exact timings around your life. In return we ask for responsibility, reliability and proactive communication. If something is slipping, we want to hear it from you before anyone has to ask. For the right person this is one of the strongest reasons to join, and it only works because everyone on the team holds up their side of it.
We are open on level and will shape the role and the package around the person. Salary is dependent on level and experience, up to £75,000 for senior candidates. We pay the same rate wherever in the UK you live.

We have designed the process to test the things that actually predict success in this role: how you think, how you work with AI and how you defend or revise a decision under challenge. It has three stages and we will keep you informed at every one.
Applications are through our short online form. You'll be expected to give your first name, last name, a CV upload, a link to your portfolio and your answers to the three questions below. Please complete it by 8th Nov 2026.
An online portfolio that shows your thinking and process is far more useful to us than a gallery of finished screens. Keep each answer to a few paragraphs; we would rather read something specific and true than something polished.
We review every application, invite candidates we would like to learn more about to a 1-hour introductory call, and then move selected candidates forward to a paid take-home task followed by a final wrap-up call.
Bettor Faster welcomes applications from all backgrounds and we run the same process for every candidate.
